PROJECT
‘YOU WANT TO BE PURE AGAIN?’ is the manifestation of my graduation project revolving around the
intense, almost desperate desire to return to a state of purity after my experience with sexual assault, in hopes
of reclaiming what has been lost and shattered.  This yearning is at the core of my project, which explores the deep emotional complexities and personal turmoil tied to such an experience. It delves into the struggle of
trying to heal, of wanting to feel whole again, and the emotional weight carried by victims in the aftermath of
such a violation. My project aims to shed light on how this desire for purity manifests in both physical and emotional ways and how it shapes the journey of recovery and self-rediscovery.


PUBLICATION
The project is accompanied with a visual publication that reflects on the emotional aftermath of sexual
violence — tracing feelings of guilt, grief, numbness, and the longing to feel whole again. The publication takes
on a experimental and abstract style, exploring varying segment sizes and unconventional layouts to portray a fragmented, disjointed visual language that mirrors themes of memory and emotional rupture. Breaking away
from the traditional structure, the publication explores a more intuitive, feeling-driven composition — emphasising mood over clarity, and distortion over perfection, visually articulating the chaos and complexity often embedded in trauma and healing through it’s presentation.
